Space Hellas has successfully completed the project “Development of a Broadband Local Access Network for the LUCM of the Prefecture of Laconia”, with a contract price amounting to € 275,827.72.
In specific, the completion of the project involved the installation and configuration of a broadband local access network for the prefecture of Laconia, covering the Municipalities of Mystras, Geronthres, Therapnes, Oinountas, Pellana and Skala.
The purpose of the network is to expand the services delivered by the “SYZEFXIS” network to Public agencies and services, such as schools, Citizen Service Centres, rural surgeries, community offices etc. Each of the abovementioned Municipalities was furnished with relay/distribution nodes over wireless links, ensuring that all terminal points (services and agencies) are wirelessly interconnected with the Town Hall, from which they gain access to the “SYZEFXIS” network and the services it offers.
The completed project has provided the Municipalities of the Laconia LUCM with a wireless local access network which can accommodate a full array of network services with security and reliability: data, VoIP telephony and added-value services such as Internet feeds, mail and web hosting as well as any other related services that may be developed in the future. Finally, the network serves as the backbone from which SYZEFXIS can expand to even more public agencies, thus offering access to even the most remote points of the area.
Over its 25 years of activity, Space Hellas has gained substantial experience and know-how in wireless network technology, with an impressive track record of successfully completed wireless broadband and other networks. In the context of Invitation 105 the company has designed and deployed networks in more than 60 municipalities throughout Greece.
